I was about 15? Heard this number on an ‘best of 1986 album’ and fell in love with ELO. Ran to the shop and bought ‘Balance of Power. It had a red cover.

Vandaag toevallig opgekomen na het bekijken van een deel van de cd-collectie.
Mijn eerste lp die ik ooit kreeg was er een van Supertramp. Het moet zowat in 1980 geweest zijn. Mijn grootvader en ik liepen samen in de Delhaize en ik zag daar een live elpee staan, van Supertramp (Live in Paris als ik het mij nog goed herinner – een dubbel elpee met op de voorkant de arc de triomph helemaal verlicht). Nadien werd muziek voor mij echt een passie. Ik kocht zowat alles wat er op de markt verscheen. Ik kocht dit met het geld dat ik kreeg voor mijn verjaardag, nieuwjaar, etc.. Op één of andere manier ben ik die collectie dan toch ergens kwijt geraakt…. Het doet nog pijn

Met dank aan de tijdloze op stu bru vandaag, heb ik dit nummer nog eens terug gehoord.
Dankzij wikipedia weet ik vanaf vandaag nu ook wat de vertaling is van Dire Straits.
